Born underneath the ocean in Sui-no-Sato, Xadai led a secluded life. He harbored a curious nature as a child, and longed to explore beyond the safe little bubble that his parents insisted he stay in. If anything, his curiosity only increased the more they ordered him to stay. Despite this, he stayed in his home until he was sixteen years old.Another teenager around his age dared him to go further than he had ever explored before, and being as stubborn as he is, Xadai didn't hesitate to prove his bravery. However, on his excursion, Xadai was swept away by a powerful underwater current, and was taken to the shores of the Azim Steppe. There, he was found and taken in by the Malaguld tribe, who accepted Raen into their fold.He stayed only for a few years, leaving shortly before his 20th birthday to continue to sate his curious nature and travel the lands on his own accord. However, it wasn't long before he stumbled into the Doman regions, where he would stay for a good several years. Here, he met a Raen woman named Kura, after saving her life as their paths met. It was practically love at first sight for them, and even though her rich merchant father disapproved, Kura and Xadai were quick to become close and then romantically involved.They dated in secret for three years, before Xadai finally gathered the courage to propose to her. At first there was some resistance from her parents, but they eventually caved, knowing that it was Xadai who made her truly happy.Their happiness, however, was not long for the world. Hardly a season after their engagement was announced, Xadai returned home one evening to find Kura brutally murdered. Xadai was framed for the murder, and just barely managed to escape with his life.He spent the following several months in hiding, and learning of who was truly responsible for her death. He traced it down to a small group of wannabe assassins, and Xadai hunted them down to the last, killing each of them in just a brutal fashion as they had done to Kura. This act earned the attention of a Miqo'te man by the name of Silence, who ran a rival assassins guild. Contacting Xadai, he convinced the Raen to join the Echoes, seeking to put the broken man to work with a purpose...
